REINIKU FILMS, INC. is a Florida-based, independent production company based in Tampa and Miami. Reiniku Films was established in 2004 by writer/director, SHEKINAH APEDO. As a company, we are dedicated to the preservation and growth of INDIEpendent filmmaking. We site our motto as being 'the active eye in cinema', meaning we aim to capture the human reality at its core. Reiniku Films derives its cinematic roots from Cinema Verite and our main focus is to produce feature & short documentaries about music subcultures and the many ignored social issues creating injustice around the world.

Reiniku Films has had short films and music videos featured at (3) U.S. film festivals between 2005-2007. Our last film is the Christian Hip-Hop documentary, "Word on the Str33t" (2007). Our latest venture beginning in 2008 took us into the music industry where we launched "Mainstream Killed the Indie Star", a TV show showcasing interviews and music videos from indie-labeled and unsigned bands. As of 2009, the TV show is broadcasting on cable access to over 1 million viewers in Tampa, FL. Learn more about "Mainstream Killed the Indie Star" from our website, www.indiestar.tv.
